WILLEMSTAD - Vaccination is the best option to help the country overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. That is the conclusion that Premier Gilmar Pisas draws. He expressed this conclusion during the recent press conference of the government of Curaçao. "The number of people in the hospital in particular because of COVID lays a huge pressure on the medical capacity of our country," said Pisas.
He then showed prove from various other countries in the world, such as Greece and France, where it is clearly visible what they do with people who refuse vaccination: They are denied access to their work or they receive a fine of 1,500 euros.
Up until now, the government has not forced anyone to vaccinate, but it is now indicated that 'the limit has been reached.' Pisas wants everyone to realize that “their choice should now endanger the entire country.”
