WILLEMSTAD - The president of Lions Clubs International has visited the Caribbean Research and Management of Biodiversity (Carmabi). Douglas X. Alexander was invited by the Curaçao Lions Club to visit the foundation.
Lions Clubs International Foundation is a global charitable foundation. The foundation is located at Lions Clubs International Headquarters in Oak Brook. About $40 million per year is available for aid projects. The budget comes from gifts, donations and the annual contribution of all Lions and Leos.
Alexander will stay in Curaçao for three days. During the visit to Carmabi, together with Lions from Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire and America, he received an explanation about the work that the foundation is doing in the field of nature conservation. The group was also given a guided tour. The Curaçao Lions Club has made a donation of 5,000 guilders to the organization.
