Pressure on government to adjust night curfew

Local | By Correspondent December 28, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - There is pressure on the government from various sectors in the community to change the current curfew. According to sources the government crisis team, the coalition and opposition parties are arguing for this.

The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) already sounded the alarm last week. It would still be too busy on the streets at night due to illegal parties. There have also been many traffic accidents in recent days. This puts extra pressure on the police and hospital staff.

The curfew is now in effect between 3 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Prime Minister Pisas said last week that bringing the curfew earlier would lead to reckless driving.
