BRUSSELS - With his new portfolio, Commissioner Timmermans will be dealing with the topic of climate and in particular the Green Deal which needs to be adopted within the first 100 days after assuming office.

Additionally, the two gentlemen elaborately spoke about in what way and to what extent Curaçao and the other OCTs can be represented on the European Union level. Long term solutions like renewable energy and other ways to collaborate were discussed.

Also the situation in Venezuela and the effects the crisis has on Curaçao and the region was discussed during the pleasant introductory meeting between the Prime Minister of Curaçao and the Vice-President of the European Commission in Brussels.
