Prime Minister Pisas held accountable for behavior Minister Plenipotentiary

Local | By Correspondent July 27, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Faction leader Sheldry Osepa of coalition party PNP has called Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas to account for the behavior of Minister Plenipotentiary Carls Manuel. To this end, he submitted 47 written questions to the Prime Minister.

Osepa says he has "shocking" information that indicates that Manuel, who has been controversial since his appointment last June, has been guilty of "vicious bullying" against employees he does not like. Incidentally, there is no longer a lot of staff at the Curaçao House: there are only 5 employees active. The rest have indicated that they do not want to work in a "fear culture" and have resigned, others have called in sick to be spared from insults. Also, about the alleged paranoid personnel policy of Curaçao's highest representative in The Hague, Osepa wants an explanation from Pisas, who has kept his hand above Manuel head in every incident so far.

The reason for the list of questions is 'camera gate': last week it became clear that cameras have been installed in the Curaçao house, which Osepa states are intended to spy on employees. Manuel himself insists the cameras are there to protect them. He called on the minister and party colleague Charles Cooper, who was on holiday in the Netherlands, to record it for him via a video on Facebook.
