THE HAGUE - Before flying to Brussels, Prime Minister Rhuggenaath made a one-day visit to The Hague. He took the opportunity to talk with Prime Minister Rutte and Undersecretary of Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops about developments in Curaçao.

In conversation with Undersecretary Knops, extensive discussions were held about the progress with regard to the implementation of the Growth Agreement. A progress committee consisting of chairman Albert Romero and Adèle van der Pluim-Vrede supported by secretary Aimee Kleinmoedig-Francisco has already been established. A few steps regarding short-term financial adjustments and measures have already been taken and in other areas, such as the investment agenda and the social development agenda, most of the preparatory work has been completed and the Curaçao government must now get to work energetically. Governments continue to discuss potential support for capacity development and implementation of established priorities. The Undersecretary also complimented Curaçao on the organization of a successful Invest in Willemstad summit.

The prime minister then had a productive conversation with his colleague Prime Minister Mark Rutte. The two prime ministers have briefly considered the successful participation of the entire Kingdom delegation in the United Nations General Assembly regarding foreign policy and attracting international knowledge and investment for the countries. Then the growth agreement was discussed again, as well as developments around the refinery, the effects of the crisis in Venezuela such as migration and the efforts being made to boost the economy of Curaçao.
