WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath has indicated during a press conference that he is grateful for the cooperation of the people of Curaçao.

Most of the population adheres to the applicable rules of social distance. Rhuggenaath hopes that the measures can be relaxed again soon.

“We are all tired of COVID, but unfortunately we have to learn to live with it because the virus will remain for the time being.

For the time being, we must adhere to measures to suppress the virus. As long as there is no vaccine, this will have to be done. Keeping your distance and observing hygiene is very important,” said the prime minister.

“Unfortunately there are also people who do not understand this. People get sick and people die, as we see in other countries. There are people who think that the virus will not infect them, this behavior endangers people's health.”

According to the prime minister, there is still a simple goal: to stabilize and balance in the fight against the corona virus. In addition, the capacity of medical care is monitored, as are education and the economy.
