"Privatization of UTS ended in great disappointment"

Local | By Correspondent January 12, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - According to the independent Member of Parliament Rennox Calmes, the privatization of the telecommunication company UTS has turned out to be a great disappointment. The government previously stated that the sale of the company would improve telecommunication by a lot for the population in the future.

But according to Calmes, that has not been the case since FLOW took over UTS. There is poor service, long queues and many people have not received their box as promised before the end of the year with which they can watch television via FLOW. He wants the government to actually stand up for the interests of the citizens.

In a press release, Calmes today sends photos of the circumstances under which customers stand in line at FLOW / UTS. For example, they have to hide in the rain under a dilapidated tent. Calmes wants Minister Zita Jesus-Leito of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning to intervene.
