WILLEMSTAD - The MCB group has reached several milestones in 2021. The balance sheet total passed the limit of 9.3 billion guilders for the first time. The group's equity capital also exceeds one billion guilders for the first time in the bank's 105-year existence. This is evident from the annual figures for 2021.
In 2021 there was a profit of almost 113 million guilders. The bank contributes almost 23 million guilders to the state treasury. The bank's strong capital position is partly due to the central bank's obligation not to pay dividends in 2020 and 2021. The MCB group consists of fifteen companies that are active on the six islands of the Dutch Caribbean, including MCB bank in Curacao.
