"Proposal civil servants do not suffice"

Local | By Correspondent June 20, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The proposal presented by the civil servants to the government is not satisfactory. This is according to Minister Armin Konket, of government service and planning.

Civil servants have to sacrifice 12.5 percent of their fringe benefits. The government had previously made several proposals to do this, but the unions representing these government employees did not agree.

They have now made a counter proposal by cutting back on allowances and voluntary retirement, for example, but Konket says these matters are not covered by the terms of employment.
