Public treatment of the Ombudsman for Children is approaching

Local | By Correspondent November 22, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - On the International Day of the Rights of the Child yesterday, the United Nations is putting pressure on Curaçao and could even give an instruction to the Kingdom because there is still no Ombudsman for children here.

The initiative bill from Ombudsman Concicion has been in parliament for years. According to the faction leader for the ruling party PAR, Annemaria Pauletta, the bill has since been discussed in a Central Commission meeting. According to the MP there is also another law that will be dealt with quickly in a public meeting, namely the "paternity law".

That law is also a mandatory part of the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child.
