Questions about the Curaçao house

Local | By Correspondent July 8, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning (VVRP) Zita Jesus-Leito must provide clarity about the plans the government has with the buildings of the Curaçao house on Badhuisweg, Wagenaarsweg and Prinsegracht in The Hague.

In a letter to the minister, the Member of Parliament Ana Maria Pauletta asks questions about the government's intentions with regard to these three buildings, whether it is intended that the Curaçao house go back to Badhuisweg and Wagenaarsweg and what about the maintenance of the properties.

“The three properties on Badhuisweg and Wagenaarsweg have been put below the value for sale and during the parliamentary meeting of 26 September 2017 the sale of these buildings was stopped. This resulted in a lawsuit won by the government of Curaçao," writes the parliamentarian in her letter to the minister.

"We must be aware of the fact that due to mismanagement from the past we would have had to bear enormous costs but would also have had to deal with the loss of more than 4 million and one of three buildings."
