WILLEMSTAD - It was a long sit for the audience of the Tumba Festival. After an evening full of music and various acts, Raey Lauffer has been crowned Tumba King. It was already well after 04:00 at night.
Lauffer sang the song "Kaminda tin huma tin kandela" (Where there is smoke there is fire). The song will be heard a lot on the radio and TV during the carnival period in the coming weeks.
Visitors had a lot of criticism of this year's festival. For example, one of the evenings last week started an hour later than planned because something was wrong with the sound. Friday was the closing night of the festival. By midnight, only half of all finalists had been represented, which meant that the festival did not end until 05:00 on Saturday morning.
