BRUSSELS - Member of the European Parliament Samira Rafaela has called on Prime Minister Rutte and Undersecretary for Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops to plea for additional European support to the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom to help them through the corona crisis.
The EU summit agenda included the multi-annual budget and the recovery fund to support Member States in their economic recovery. Rafaela draws Rutte and Knops to the resolution that the European Parliament also adopted on its initiative in April. It urges the European Commission to establish an extraordinary fund for the overseas countries and territories. There has been no response to date.
