WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch rapper Josylvio has been released after a night in jail on Curaçao. This was announced by his management on Instagram. There appeared to be problems with his passport, but these have since been resolved.

Josylvio got into a fight with the police on arrival at Hato on Wednesday after an altercation over his travel documents. An officer slapped him in the face. Josylvio was arrested for insulting and disturbing public order.

According to his management, his papers were in order. "Recently, after applying for it, he received a new passport. But due to an error in the system, it was incorrectly reported as stolen. His municipality acknowledges the error and all the correct papers were immediately sent to the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KM) at Schiphol," says the management.

According to the management, the documents were not processed properly and Josylvio should immediately fly back to the Netherlands. "Josylvio has since been released and all documents sent by the KM from the Netherlands have been correctly processed and handled in Curaçao," said a statement.

The rapper is in Curaçao to work on his new album and will stay here for the time being.
