WILLEMSTAD - The court sentenced real estate firm Freelands properties and productions in a case regarding money laundering.
The company had not investigated the origin of the money from some of its customers. And that is not allowed. A broker is required to report unusual financial transactions. The Financial Intelligence Unit had filed a complaint. The broker must now pay a fine of 15,000 guilders, 5,000 of which are conditional.
