AMSTERDAM - On Thursday, September 12, the police found a record amount of nearly 13 million euros in homes in Amsterdam in a large-scale drug investigation. Seven suspects have been arrested, as was reported last Tuesday.

The Dutch police started the investigation some time ago after they received information about drug trafficking from a group of Colombians to the Netherlands.

A 52-year-old Colombian woman, who came into the picture as a manager, is one of the suspects that was arrested. She was in Amsterdam at the time of her arrest.

People from Albania, New Zealand and Morocco have also been arrested. The large amount of money was found in homes that emerged in the investigation.

Olivier Dutilh, chief of the regional police in Amsterdam, says that this is one of the biggest cash catches ever in the Netherlands.

"I am proud of the many colleagues who participated in this investigation. We have now arrested seven suspects, but I cannot rule out that more will follow."
