Recreational boating allowed again

Local | By Correspondent May 13, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - Since yesterday it has been allowed to sail recreationally again. The relaxation was not mentioned at the press conference, but it was mentioned in the ministerial provision published yesterday.

Vessels are allowed to be at sea between 4:30 AM and 8:00 PM. The captain and the crew must adhere to certain guidelines. For example, charter boats must have a registration of all those on board.

Also, only fifty percent of the maximum number (for which the vessel has been inspected) is allowed, with a maximum of twenty-five people.

A maximum of four people are allowed on board on private boats, unless they are people from the same household. A maximum of two vessels may moor next to each other and gathering on piers, fleets or floaties is not permitted.

When sailing to Klein Curaçao, this must be reported to Fort Nassau via VHF channel 12 or telephone number 461-4581.
