WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday, parliament approved a proposal by Finance Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha to lower the property tax. This means that homeowners will have to pay less property tax.
The tax depends on the value of the house. Simply put, the more expensive the house, the higher the tax. Eleven Members of Parliament voted in favor, two voted against.
