WILLEMSTAD - Refineria Isla Curaçao started yesterday with the launch of the Thermal Cracker 1. According to spokesperson Earl Balborda, the cracker is intended to refine 400,000 barrels of oil in the short term.
This oil is the remaining stock that is stored at the terminal in Bullenbaai. Parent company PdVSA of the Refineria Isla has given permission for this. Two different types of oil will be mixed during refining, with which fuel oil will be produced.
