WILLEMSTAD - PDVSA’s subsidiary company in Curaçao, Refineria Isla owes the utility company Aqualectra 17 million guilders.
It involves more than 2.5 years of water use. However, the Aqualectra water meter is in the name of the Curaçao Utilites Company and this is according to interim director Marcelino de Lannoy of Refineria di Kòrsou "an empty company".
As a result, that company, in turn, has a debt of almost 8 million guilders. The owner of the refinery facilities, Refineria di Kòrsou now only makes small payments and very irregularly.
