Remuneration wellness projects stopped

Local | By Correspondent February 15, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature has announced that all wellness projects have been stopped. These activities will therefore no longer be reimbursed by the SVB.

SVB director Philip Martis says that this is done to evaluate the projects on whether they achieve the desired effect.

Former GMN minister Suzy Camelia-Römer advocated wellness projects as Ayurvedic practices as prevention for chronic diseases. Small-scale horticultural projects can no longer continue in this respect.

In 2020 almost 20 million guilders were spent on wellness projects, according to the SVB.
