WILLEMSTAD - About 100 illegal Venezuelans did not return to their country yesterday. The planned repatriation flight was cancelled, leaving the passengers stranded at the airport.
According to Human Rights Defense, the Venezuelans have been left to deal with this issue on their own. The foundation is still looking for about 20 places to stay for the group. Venezuela closed its airspace on December 18.
According to reports from Venezuela, the government canceled these flights because there is an issue between Venezuela and the Netherlands. The Netherlands did not allow the Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez to travel to The Hague to meet with the special prosecutor of the International Court of Justice.
