WILLEMSTAD - The board of Buurtvereniging Mahaai is concerned about water that continues to flow into the neighborhood. The water flows from Angloweg via Mahaaiweg to Rozenweg and concerns groundwater that is continuously pumped onto the public road. The result, according to the neighborhood association, is that the roads become slippery because of the growth of algae. Traffic accidents have happened several times in recent years. In addition, this stagnant water creates an unsanitary situation, there are many mosquitoes and flies, with all risks for public health. The neighborhood association wants the government to intervene.

For example, they state in a letter sent in: "It is high time that the responsible government authorities and responsible minister intervened quickly and put an end to this nuisance and dangerous traffic situation before any accidents occur."
