DORDRECHT - In the investigation into the murder of the 42-year-old Curaçaoan Johnny Henriques, the Dutch justice is offering a reward of 15,000 euros. That was announced on Tuesday. He was shot at close range on the Jacob van Heemskerckstraat in Dordrecht on Saturday evening, April 25. Police have new surveillance footage in the investigation. It shows how a person cycles away fast after the shooting incident. The police suspect that it is the culprit. Henriques was shot near his apartment. When he tried to get away, the shooter fired a few more bullets at him at close range.
Attention to the case in TV program Opsporing Verzocht on 12 May led to dozens of tips. The police hope that the reward will provide the golden tip that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrator or perpetrators. It is still unclear why Henriques was shot. On March 15, Henriques's brother was shot at the Crabbehof shopping center in Dordrecht, a few hundred meters from where Johnny Henriques was murdered. The brother survived the attack.
