Rhuggenaath: No relief from corona measures yet this week

Local | By Correspondent December 15, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - There will be no relief from the measures this week. The infection figures are heading in the right direction, but it is now too early to draw any conclusions. That is what Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath declared today during a press conference.

The prime minister warns that not everyone adheres to the rules and that this is necessary to relax the rules.

On Monday, December 21, the situation in Curaçao will be reviewed again.

The prime minister has called on the people of Curaçao to be creative at Christmas and New Year's Eve. This year there will be no dance parties, company drinks and fireworks to close the year. “But we still have to try to make it a nice party,” says Rhuggenaath. According to the prime minister, the government is still thinking about a festive celebration. For example by broadcasting a music show on television. He also calls on everyone to use common sense during the holidays.
