RMR decides today on new loans for Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten

Local | By Correspondent September 24, 2021

THE HAGUE - Today the Kingdom Council of Ministers (RMR) will decide on the liquidity support that Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten need from the Netherlands to meet their financial obligations in the fourth quarter.

It's about the 7th installment. Before these are made payable, the conditions set by the Netherlands must be met. Curaçao and Sint Maarten had difficulty with this with previous loans, as a result of which the transfer of the reserved millions was postponed until the conditions were met.

No interest will be charged on the loans until April 2023. Whether that will be the case remains to be decided.
