QUEENS - Jean-Julian Rojer has started well at the US Open. The 41-year-old from Curaçao reached the second round by winning together with Marcelo Arévalo from El Salvador against the Australian combination John Peers/Alexei Popyrin 6-3 and 7-6.

Rojer won the US Open 5 years ago, then with Horia Teçau from Romania. With the victory in America, Rojer's counter now stands at 30 victories and four Grand Slam titles, including Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
