Rotterdam Summer Carnival on UNESCO Heritage List

Local | By Correspondent January 30, 2020

ROTTERDAM - The Summer Carnival in Rotterdam has been nominated by the UNESCO Convention of the Intangible Cultural Heritage 2021. The purpose of that convention is to pass on that heritage to future generations.

What started as an Antillean carnival with the aim of promoting cultural encounters has grown into a multicultural celebration in which more than 25 different cultures of origin participate.

Tambú and the Ka’i Orgèl are also promising for a future nomination.
