WILLEMSTAD - This afternoon, the Governor of Curaçao, Mrs. L.A. George Wout, presented the Royal Awards 2020 to Messrs. Manohar Sawilani and Rupert Wallé. Both gentlemen have been appointed Knight in the Order of Oranje Nassau.

Mr. Sawilani has received his Royal award for his contribution to various cultural and sporting events and for his commitment to the Indian community. Mr. Wallé has been committed to the welfare of the children in Curaçao and Sint Maarten for more than 30 years through the Sentro di Informashon i Formashon na Bienestar di Mucha Foundation.
Due to the Covid travel restrictions in 2020, it had not previously been possible to present both gentlemen with their Royal decoration.
Now that the government has relaxed the Covid measures, the award ceremony of 2021 will also take place in the short term.
