Royal honor for 22 Curaçao citizens

WILLEMSTAD - On Friday, July 3, 2020, the Governor of Curaçao, Her Excellency Lucille George-Wout, on behalf of His Majesty the King Willem-Alexander, had the honor during an official ceremony at the palace of Fort Amsterdam to award 22 Curaçao citizens with a Royal honor for their years of special service for the benefit of the Curaçao community. In connection with COVID, the Governor has not pinned the ribbons, but has handed them over to the honored ones.

The following persons are awarded with a Royal honor for their many years of special achievements in the fields of art and culture, Sail Curaçao, the Red Cross, ecclesiastical, neighborhood centers from Bandariba to Bandabou, sports and youth work:

Mr. Manohar Sawilani and Mr. Rupert E. Wallé were unable to attend the official ceremony. They will be presented with their Royal Awards at a later date.

 

During the ceremony, the Governor said, among other things, that the Covid pandemic has proven that volunteers in our society are invaluable and that the community cannot do without them.
