THE HAGUE - Samira Rafaela, number 3 on the D66 list of candidates for the European Parliament elections, will be campaigning on the ABC islands this week.
On 5 and 6 May she will be in Aruba, on 7 and 8 May in Curaçao and on 9, 10 and 11 May in Bonaire. Rafaela wants to personally call on voters in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom to exercise their voting rights on 23 May. She points out that many laws and regulations adopted by the European Union can have an impact on daily life in the Caribbean.
If she gets enough votes to get to the European Parliament, she wants to be an ambassador for the islands in Brussels.
