WILLEMSTAD - The Supreme Electoral Council (SEC) has announced that the festivities surrounding the submission of the election lists next Thursday will not take place. This in connection with the applicable COVID-19 measures. It will be a sober occasion, with only three people allowed to enter the WTC Exhibition Hall.
The submission time has been increased by two hours to six in the evening. There is also limited opportunity for the press to attend. Next weekend, the primaries will take place from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm at 11 different locations. Each party must receive a minimum of 789 votes to participate in the March 19 elections.
