WILLEMSTAD - The government announced that starting January 5, classes of secondary education no longer have to be divided in smaller groups. Practical lessons can also continue as usual.
The school boards have been notified of the new measure so that teachers, parents, and students can also be informed about this.
There are some conditions, the ministry emphasizes: “Chairs and tables must be separate from each other. There should be as little physical contact as possible during gym classes. A distance of two meters must be kept between teachers, students and other school employees.
The students themselves do not have to keep a social distance. The students should remain seated as much as possible in the same place and next to students with whom they have regular contact during the break. Aggregation on and outside the schoolyard must be prevented.
Efforts should be made to ensure that students change classes as little as possible. It is better that teachers change classes. The breaks should be arranged so that not everybody is on the schoolyard at the same time. Or the schoolyard must be divided into segments. Schools can scale up the measures again if necessary. "
