WILLEMSTAD - The security of the Isla refinery site has been tightened. For example, 100% checks are carried out on all vehicles entering or leaving the site.
Staff are also no longer allowed to drive onto the site in their private vehicle. Transport is arranged for employees from the parking lot at the head office. Due to the stricter control, it is quite busy at the entrance gate of the refinery.
According to the director of the Curaçao Refinery (RdK) Marcelino de Lannoy, it is necessary to keep a closer eye on what enters and leaves the site in order to guarantee the safety of the employees.
