WILLEMSTAD - After the surgery stop on July 10 of this year, the Sint Elisabeth Hospital (Sehos) performed 761 emergency operations. This brings the total to 4360.
More than 300 operations were postponed because there was not enough material available. The bills are now paid directly by insurer the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), but the old debt is still there. That amounts to almost 100 million guilders.
