SEHOS wins case against Suzanne Camelia-Römer

Local | By Correspondent November 11, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The Elisabeth Hospital Foundation (SEHOS) yesterday won a substantive procedure that it had filed against the former Minister of Health Suzanne Camelia-Römer. The judge has ruled that the minister acted negligently by making cuts in the hospital's budget in 2017.

Camelia-Römer would not have acted correctly in determining the budget in that year, the judge said. The court has now determined that the government must pay 127 million for the 2017 budget, instead of the 124 million that Camelia-Römer made available.

The case was heard on September 16 of this year, yesterday there was a ruling. Members of the management of SEHOS and accountants of the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) were present during the treatment. The budget was set at 214 million guilders in 2017. But according to the SEHOS, that was not enough to cover all the expenses.
