WILLEMSTAD - Several catering establishments have already decided to keep their doors closed for the time being. These include Bar27, Grand Cafe Mahaai, Restaurant Cristal, Captain's sports bar and J'adore.
It is not yet known when they will reopen. Egon Sybrandy of the Curaçao Restaurant Association has previously stated that the measures taken hit the restaurants hard.
With the Code Oranje set by the Netherlands, it is expected that tourism will drop dramatically, which will further reduce the number of visitors to restaurants.
This could be the death knell for several smaller restaurants, Sybrandy said.
