WILLEMSTAD - There is currently a shortage of asphalt on Curaçao. The Asphalt Central Curaçao has informed its customers about this problem.
The Curoil company is currently negotiating with PdVSA, which still has a stock of bitumen stored in its tanks on the refinery site. That product is necessary for making asphalt. But no agreement has yet been reached.
As is already known, the contract with PdVSA for the operation of the refinery had ended at the end of 2019.
