Silent march for murdered Siki Martina

Local | By Correspondent July 25, 2022

ROTTERDAM - A silent march was held in Rotterdam on Friday evening for producer Siki Martina. The 31-year-old Curaçao citizen was shot dead on Sunday 10 July at the Coolhaven metro station in Rotterdam.

The commemoration started at Martina's parental home in South Rotterdam and ended in Zuiderpark, where the producer's girlfriend, Sarita Lorena, gave a speech. Hundreds of people attended the silent march and a brass band joined in. Many attendees wore blue and yellow clothing, the colors of the Curaçao flag.

Earlier this week, the police arrested a second suspect for the murder of Martina. The investigation team had been looking for the 31-year-old Rotterdammer for a week. On Monday 11 July, a 34-year-old man was arrested in Barendrecht on suspicion of involvement in the shooting. The investigation continues unabated and the police do not rule out more arrests.
