PHILIPSBURG, WILLEMSTAD - Two years after hurricane Irma caused a lot of devastation on Sint Maarten, tourism on the island has recovered completely.
That is what the tourism office of the island says. In the first half of 2019, Sint Maarten welcomed almost 1.1 million cruise passengers on 373 cruise ships.
Until the end of this year, the port expects to welcome another 1.5 million cruise passengers on St. Maarten. These are numbers that were also achieved before hurricane Irma.
