PHILIPSBURG - Helicopters of the company Luviair Limited are no longer allowed to take off and land on Russian mega yachts in the territorial waters of Sint Maarten.
The Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications (TEATT) Roger Lawrence has ordered the revocation of the permit to fly. In October 2021, the minister granted a permit to the company to take off and land on the Russian mega yachts Eclipse, Garcon and Solaris when they are in the Sint Maarten area.
Due to the situation in Ukraine, according to the ministerial regulation for Sint Maarten, it is necessary to implement the new EU sanctions as a matter of urgency. The license has been revoked indefinitely.
