Sixty percent Curaçao classes without internet

Local | By Correspondent May 25, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The digitization process in education is still very slow. More than sixty percent of the schools in Curaçao do not have internet in the classroom.

The digitization project started in 2013 and was approved in 2018 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports (OWCS). More than 63 million guilders have been reserved in the budget for the project, 26 million of which is intended for the construction of an internet infrastructure.

The connection is now all the way to the threshold of schools but is apparently it cannot enter the classrooms yet.
