WILLEMSTAD - The government is in consultation with the Fundashon Kas Popular (FKP), the social housing foundation to make it possible for residents of social housing to buy their homes.
The project is given the name 'Ta pueblo su bùrt', which means 'it is the people’s turn'. The plans consider the existing government sales decree. “The first step is to start an information campaign explaining that tenants who want to make use of the purchase option can register. Registration will take place as much as possible in the neighborhoods and as close to the people as possible," explains the Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning (VVRP), Charles Cooper in a letter to Parliament.
FKP and the government will set up information tents in four places where people can report for information and registration. Furthermore, residents can immediately use the opportunity to sign up for other services of the FKP regarding the maintenance of the houses, the waiting list at FKP and rent debts.
The information has already been given on November 27 in Parke Himno i Bandera in Barber, but is also still on December 2 in Sentro di Bario Brievengat from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the same time on December 9 in Sentro di Bario Montaña and on December 11 in Sentro di Bario KoraalSpecht from 10 am to 12 noon.
