WILLEMSTAD - In the past week and a half, navy officers of the 32 raiding squadron from Aruba and the army of the Company in the West (CIDW) from Curaçao have switched islands and with that training facility.
Whereas the navy officers from Aruba are familiar with the shooting range Vader Piet, the Wacawa shooting range on Curaçao is a whole new area for most of them.
The same applies to the army soldiers of the CIDW; they mainly train in Curaçao. It is true that the CIDW rotates every four months. A (shooting) exercise on Aruba is for the CIDW in their regular training program.
The transport of the soldiers and the material was done by the support ship Zr. Ms Pelican.
