LOMBOK - Sisters, Olga and Fiona Job volunteered at a local boarding school to speak about life, wellness, and educate the children on the Dutch as well as the Curaçao culture and language.
600 students of SMK Abul Barokat boarding school in the Bunkate village in Lombok welcomes the sisters for an exciting chat. Job sisters presented in front of 160 senior high school students of ages 14-15.
Olga and Fiona first met some of these lovely students at Kuta beach in Lombok as students eagerly asked for their signatures and where they were from followed by a special invitation to come speak at their school 2 days after.
"The Indonesian students were eager to learn some Dutch and Papiamentu words and practice their English. As poor as they are, they had some of the biggest smiles and appreciations we've ever seen."
"It's been a long time since a community has touched our hearts like these kids have. They've mostly never seen foreigners before and saw us like celebrities asking us for our pictures and signatures, which was intriguing.
This experience has taught us to be more humble and realize that even though one community may find you worthless, the other may worship you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you should therefore ALWAYS love yourself no matter what!"
Olga Job has been traveling around the world full time for the last 4 years and is currently spending 6 months in Asia, representing her island Curaçao wherever she goes while touching people's lives with health and wellness on the planet. Her sister Fiona Job joined her in Indonesia on this backpacking journey.
Videos and footage were taken to highlight Curaçao and the Netherlands to share this experience with the entire island and country. Videos will be updated on Youtube this summer via Olga Job's youtube channel.
