WILLEMSTAD - The omicron variant of the coronavirus is currently spreading fastest among young people in Curaçao. Most infections occur within the group of 19- to 39-year-olds.
Internationally, it seems that the omicron variant has a milder clinical picture and that fewer people end up in hospital.
Nevertheless, the rapid spread of the virus remains a major risk for the Curaçao’s population, which includes a relatively large number of chronically ill, diabetic, and obese people.
