WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday, Monday September 21, during underwater work in the B-dock of Damen Shiprepair Curaçao, two employees of our subcontractor Curaçao Industrial Diving lost their lives. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the two divers died on the spot. The causes of the accident are still unknown. The Labor Inspection (SOAW/Arbeidsinspectie) has already been on site. Naturally, we and the Labor Inspection will conduct an investigation into this tragic accident.
Our thoughts go out to the family, friends, colleagues and other relatives of the two victims. We wish them all much strength to be able to bear this heavy loss.
