WILLEMSTAD - Steven Croes has been nominated as the new Minister of Education in the Rhuggenaath cabinet. Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath has been in charge of the post since January this year. But he still wants to transfer the position four months before the elections. The 40-year-old Croes is currently working at trust office Citco in Curaçao. He has mainly worked in the financial sector. Before Croes can be appointed, he must first go through a screening process. The Public Prosecution confirms that a candidate is being screened, but does not want to name it.

At the end of January, Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé stepped down as Minister of Education. The post of Minister of Health, Nature and the Environment is also still open after the departure of Suzanne Camelia-Römer on July 24 this year. It seems that the coalition also wants to fill that position with a new candidate soon.
