WILLEMSTAD - Cash payments remain possible at the Civil Registry (Kranshi) for the time being. As of the beginning of June it was no longer possible to pay with cash at Kranshi, but there was a transition period.
According to interim director Ruthline Haddocks, there was a lot of criticism of the measure and it has been abandoned for the time being, but it is not going away. If someone does not have a bank card, the amount could also be transferred via the bank.
A transitional period is now being observed and people are being encouraged to apply for a bank card. Haddock does not want to comment on when cash payments are no longer possible.
